Music Program
The
Music Ministry is a vital link in the life of Hughesville Baptist Church.
It helps to set the tone of our worship, and prepare the heart to receive
God's word through our pastor. Our music ministry, led by dedicated
volunteers, offers many opportunities for service through Christian music
for all ages.

Kevin Hugel - Choir Director
|
The Adult Choir is
directed by Kevin Hugel. Kevin is a humble servant leader who
shares his love for the Lord through this wonderful music
ministry. The Adult Choir sings at the 10:30 AM service each
Sunday morning.
Kevin is pictured
with Joseph Martin. Joseph composes and performs many hymns sung
world-wide in churches.

Shawna Browne - Piano
Born in Topeka, Kansas,
Shawna was raised in an Air Force family. A multi-faceted
musician, she began playing the piano around the age of five and later
learning the oboe, flute, saxophone, guitar and trumpet prior to
graduating high school in Ohio. From 1987 until 1991 Shawna
served as a musician in the United States Marine Corps where she met
her future husband, Bill Browne. Shawna grew up in Lutheran
churches and was saved at the age of 24. She has been using her
talents to serve churches as a pianist and choral accompanist ever
since. She considers her musical ability “a treasure that I hope
to always be able to share with others to honor our Lord.”
Shawna and Bill are members of HBC and have two children, Kailey and
Tanner. Bill still serves in the USMC as drum major for “The
President’s Own.” God has led a truly talented family of musicians
to HBC.
Sylvia Graham - Organ
A
talented and gifted musician, Sylvia joined the music staff at Hughesville
in August 2007. Sylvia studied both the piano and pipe organ at an early
age growing up in Jacksonville, Florida playing at FBC Jacksonville as a
student and later serving several churches in the Jacksonville area.
During her college years at Georgia State University, she continued her
education on the pipe organ serving as assistant to the organist for FBC
Atlanta. She later returned to Florida where she served at several
Jacksonville churches in need of quality organists. Sylvia and her
husband relocated to Maryland in 2004 where she most recently served as
organist and choral accompanist for FBC St. Charles in Waldorf, Maryland.
HBC is truly blessed to have her talent each week at the organ as well as
her sweet spirit and love of serving Christ with music.
Adult Choir
Our adult choir is composed
of faithful volunteers who provide consistent "first fruits" of their
labor for worship services. They also highlight the Christmas and Easter
seasons with special presentations. The adult choir meets weekly for
rehearsal on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 PM.
Psalm Singers
All
children 4 years old to 6th grade are welcome to participate.
The Psalm Singers meet weekly
for rehearsal in the Fellowship Hall: Sundays, 6:00PM
Sharon Payne leads and
directs the Psalm Singer Program. We are grateful for her dedication to
this ministry. Her love for the Lord shines as she uses her talents to
lead our children.
