Hughesville Baptist Church will reopen for Sunday worship on May 31st unless the Charles County Board of Commissioners extends their stay-at-home to expire on May 29th at 5 PM.

The church sanctuary will be opened at 9:45 AM. There will NOT be any Sunday school classes meeting, or an extended session for the children, or coffee and donuts in the small kitchen.

Access to the building will ONLY be available through the glass doors leading into the foyer of the sanctuary. Hopefully, everyone entering the building will be scanned if we are able to secure the touchless thermometers.

Everyone entering the building should wear a mask. Only those speaking or singing from the pulpit will be permitted to remove their mask while in the auditorium.

Every other pew will be closed, and everyone is asked to sit with his or her family members. Everyone should sit six feet apart from all non-family members during the service. The church ushers are asked to assist in helping everyone practice social distancing in the church facilities.

Everyone is asked to refrain from physical contact such as handshaking, hugging or other public displays of affection.

The collection of tithes and offerings will occur after the worship service. Ushers will be at the doors of the sanctuary and collect the offering as people are exiting.

After the service, everyone is asked to exit the building and visit with one another outside.

Anyone feeling ill or who has a member of the household who is ill should not attend public worship for two weeks. Likewise, anyone who has been in contact with a person who has tested positive for the Covid-19 virus should not attend the church for two weeks.

Anyone who has a pre-existing health condition or feels uncomfortable about coming to church at this time should also remain at home.

The church building will be cleaned and sanitized every week. Likewise, we are making every attempt to secure touchless soap and paper towel dispensers for the restroom facilities as well as touchless hand sanitizer dispensers.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation in making the worship services at Hughesville Baptist Church a safe and edifying experience for everyone attending.

Blessings,
Pastor Derek
